It’s a quiet night in my house. The kids are in bed. I think my husband fell asleep. The dog lies next to me and off in a corner, our pet rat is crunching on some peanuts. It’s the calm before the storm of Christmas weekend and New Year’s Eve.
I don’t usually make a list of New Year’s resolutions. Maybe a mental list that goes something like this: lose weight, eat better, exercise, organize the house finally, and get those wedding photos in an album for Pete’s sake, it has been 10 years! But by January 2, I’ve forgotten these goals. Or repressed them. This year, I intend to make good on 12 goals that will cover basic human divisions: mind, body, spirit and creativity. I’ve listed each goal per category on separate pages on the blog. See, I’m already off to a good, organized start!
My bucket list is a mixture of easy-to-accomplish and self-challenging tasks. The key is to stick with each goal for a solid month, Morgan Spurlock style. My husband suggested I include some goals that are huge risks for me. My mother-figure suggested I not sabotage myself. Hopefully, I’ve found a balance. I’m willing to receive suggestions from readers and change a goal, but for now, I think I’m set.
Alas, I have promised myself not to start blogging in earnest until January 1, 2011.
Stay tuned . . .
What a cool idea for a blog! Can’t wait to read about your 12 resolutions and how you’ll tackle them.
Best wishes!
LOVE. Love love this concept and will be sending you focused, positive vibes throughout! As a fellow ADD/non-theist I can very much relate. :o) Break a leg!
I love this…. Love love love… And I’m glad you’ll not feel so confined in this blog (after all, pretty much everything can fall into your 4 categories…so no reason not to write!).
Also, the WordPress layout is awesome. 🙂
Yay!!
