Just back from my first class at Yoga on Baxter. I’m very sweaty and feel pretty serene.
The studio just moved from a smaller setting around the corner from where it is now, right next to my vet’s office. They completely transformed the former carpet warehouse (that my husband and I thought was a front for some illicit activity) into a beautiful, open space. I have wanted to take classes at this studio since I noticed the sign that they were moving. I’d drive by on my way to get my daughter at school and long to be one of the stretchy people inside, and today I saw the logo backwards from the inside sitting on a borrowed mat. I remember this space when it was a Persian restaurant and I dined here with a grad school friend who was recovering from both a divorce and a disappointing dating experience with one of our co-workers in the tutoring lab. It was dark and we sat at a cramped booth near a mannequin dressed in harem garb. I like the interior space much more now: open, clean, tan and aqua-marine paint, a ballet mirror on one wall.
There were a lot of people in the 10:00 class starting their New Year the same as me. With an introductory offer of $30 for 30 days, you can’t go wrong (although the woman next to me got an even sweeter offer through Living Social: $20 for 10 classes or $40 for 40!)
