True, I could just enroll in my yoga class and accomplish the mind/body/spirit balance in one fell swoop, or at least that’s what many yoga websites purport. I think there are many ways to accomplish fulfillment in each of these areas, and I don’t fool myself that I will reach some kind of nirvana (I know, I’m mixing spiritual metaphors) after fulfilling my 12 resolutions. A major element that is missing for me in the mind/body/spirit triangle is creativity. Maybe it could fall in the spiritual envelope. Maybe the mind. But there are too damn many things I want to create to shove it into another category. Here, it gets its own, rightful page. For each of these resolutions, I have very specific goals in mind. The accompanying photos should be fun:
- Learn to sew (I’ve wanted to do this for sooooo long). A friend has offered to help during a couple play dates.
- Learn some basic graphic design skills. Another friend has offered to help over a different set of play dates.
- Commit to doing something musical. It might mean practicing the piano again. It could be getting my guitar restrung and taking lessons or teaching myself. Or singing with a choir or small ensemble. Or auditioning for Fiddler on the Roof should it ever show up on the community theater calendar!
